Melasma is a very common skin disorder, especially among pregnant women. 15% to 50% of pregnant women get Melasma during their pregnancy and continue to carry this burden with them for the rest of their life. I, like you, am one of those women*, so I understand your struggles and I needed to find a natural solution to help me through this very upsetting skin disorder.
I developed Melasma 11 years ago during my first pregnancy and initially just thought I developed freckle clusters. I later discovered the truth and started reading up on Melasma and how to treat it*

Organic Argan Oil ~
Argan oil is said to treat melasma. The dark spots that occur with melasma result from the skin producing more melanin than normal. Argan oil affects this process by inhibiting melanin synthesis. Essentially, it prevents the conversion of enzymes that are called dopachrome tautomerase and tyrosinase, both of which make melanin (Villareal).
Argan oil is rich in linoleic (omega 6) and oleic (omega 9) fatty acids. Both of these oils aid acne-prone skin by reducing inflammation, improving moisture levels of skin and permeability of the skin. It is also a rich source of vitamin A, vitamin E and several antioxidants.
One of the top Argan oil benefits is that it acts as a skin toner, and helps in exfoliating your skin. Jojoba Oil ~
Jojoba oil is derived from the seeds of the plant Simmondsia Chinensis, a shrub that is native to northwestern Mexico, southern California and southern Arizona. Although, it is referred to as an oil, it is in fact a liquid wax of plant. It is used to treat a variety of ailments in folk medicine.

The effectiveness of jojoba oil:
Jojoba oil is used commonly to treat psoriasis, acne, chapped skin and sunburn, as it is a rich source of Vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant.
It helps in protecting your skin against sun’s rays and damage caused by free radicals, and also helps in healing sunburn due to its vitamin E content.
It also quickens the regeneration of skin cells; thus, it helps in treating scars and discoloration due to acne and also wrinkles and fine lines.
Jojoba oil is a rich source of B complex vitamins, which are also powerful antioxidants. They help your body fight against free radicals and prevent cell damage.
Vitamin B5 in Jojoba oil helps in speeding up healing of wounds and cuts. Besides delaying the premature aging of your skin, it also prevents the appearance of dark spots and wrinkles.

Rosehip oil is derived from the seeds and fruits of the rose plant.
Its active ingredients include: Essential fatty acids, Vitamins A, C and E,Beta-carotene & lycopene
All these vitamins collectively help in protecting against damage caused by sun and prevent photoaging. Essential fatty acids and vitamins help in nourishing your skin. Sandalwood ~
Is a class of woods from trees in the genus Santalum. The woods are heavy, yellow, and fine-grained, and, unlike many other aromatic woods, they retain their fragrance for decades. Sandalwood is an anti-inflammatory, Acts as an Astringent, Used as an Antiseptic, aids in removing acne and blackheads, Softens skin, removes sun spots and dark spots*
Sandalwood essential oil is especially high in antioxidants, which help to fight the free radicals that cause age-related skin damage. It’s also used to reduce the appearance of dark circles and other dark spots appearing on the skin. As an antiseptic and astringent, it also helps to clean the pores and reduce inflammation from mild skin irritations. Studies have shown that sandalwood helps with skin conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis. In fact, many skincare products contain sandalwood oil as a key, age-fighting ingredient!

Frankincense Oil ~
Frankincense oil is one of the best essential oils out there for fading scars and healing the skin. This oil is a potent natural agent for healthy skin stimulation, and it’s known to encourage turnover and strengthen elasticity. These cellular regeneration properties act a bit like retinol, but without the sun-sensitivity, drying and thinning that most retinols cause.
Native to the Middle East and India, frankincense is now one of the most common essential oils worldwide. Researchers in a 2003 study found that frankincense oil may help reduce or prevent the appearance of sunspots. This can improve skin tone while also reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Frankincense also helps generate new skin cells. Frankincense as potent healing and antiseptic properties. Possesses effective scar healing properties. It is also good at reducing hyper ~ pigmentation patches on the skin.

Lavender Oil ~
helps fight irritation and fight inflammation. Lavender oil, when applied to the raised part of a blemish, can help your skin repair faster and if applied early enough it can lead to less scarring. It contains linalyl acetate, which is known to be a wound healer. Lavender has antimicrobial activity which prevents acne breakouts. It possesses anti-inflammatory properties. Rosemary Oil ~
Rosemary essential oil is great for fading dark spots. It helps to enhance circulation and also works as a disinfectant, preventing bacterial growth. Even better is that rosemary essential oil contains phytonutrients that are believed to help fight free radical related damage and hyper ~ pigmentation.

Chamomile Oil ~
Chamomile oil naturally contains the ingredient Azulene which is highly reparative. Chamomile is calming and cell-renewing so it helps your skin fight damage. It’s also an anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant, which makes your skin more resilient to stress.

Vitamin A ~
belonging to the family of retinoids, is excellent for exfoliating dead skin. (Skin exfoliation improves cell turnover, hastening how fast hyper ~ pigmentation fades.) If you have dark spots from acne, this vitamin is an excellent treatment option.


Grapeseed Oil ~
Grapeseed oil contains linoleic acid which is great for helping to strengthen cell membranes and improving skin health.
Linoleic acid, also known as omega-6 fatty acid, which in addition to fortifying the skin’s barrier and helping to reduce water loss from the skin, may help with acne. Grapeseed Oil is very gentle to your skin. Contains powerful antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, and fatty acids that work together to combat skin issues. Safe to use on all skin types since it's non-comedogenic, and has a mild scent. It can also help alleviate redness for those with sensitive skin.
Due to its Vitamin E and Vitamin C content, it has excellent skin lightening and brightening properties as both these vitamins help in improving skin color and also lightens it.

Sugar makes an amazing abrasive ingredient in scrubs. Sandalwood Melasma Clay Mask
Application Instructions:
Use Once a week* ~ Use ONE – TWO tablespoons of powder/ clay mixture (use a non metallic spoon and bowl) and add some *Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice* ~ (or water or apple cider vinegar) and mix to a smooth paste consistency. Add a few drops of Vitamin E included in vial and/or 1 teaspoon of raw organic honey (optional)
Apply with a paintbrush. Leave on for 10 minutes, then Rinse*
